TNFNS? It has always baffled us why the show The Next Food Network Star has never been abbreviated to TNFNS much like DWTS and American Idol aka AI…errr…well you get the point. In either case, last week kicked off the season opener for the eighth season of TNFNS.
The past seven seasons have not exactly produced amazing Food Network stars. In fact, one can argue that there has only been one truly big tv personality that has come from the series: Guy Fieri from Season 3. That might be why the producers decided to mix up the format of the show this season. Instead of cooks competing mostly on their own, this season we have celebrity cooks/chefs Bobby Flay, Alton Brown, and Giada De Laurentiis each mentoring five potential candidates through a series of cooking and presenting challenges.
